To be more specific, the small Picea Glauca or Christmas Star is a stunning baby Christmas Tree that are actually wonderfully long lasting Christmas trees. Place these beauties in a nice pot indoors over the Chrissy period, decorate with mini baubles and enjoy having a little live tree!
They do not need much sunlight and as our Aussie Summer is often dry, hot and requires long periods of blasting the air conditioner, making sure trees have constantly damp (not wet) soil and are away from draughts is a must! Drying these plants out too much will cause the little needles to dry shed.
These are very slow growing trees. Once Christmas is done and dusted for another year, these can be placed outside in a shady position and slowly reintroduced back to more sunlight. Once the tree has been placed outside, ensure you maintain the watering and ensuring it is out of any draughts to protect its delicate needles.
