A day in the life of an EEFM florists

The alarm sounds at 6am for us most mornings, we set off when it’s dark and arrive at the flower market as the sun rises.
We are always met with some pretty extraordinary colours, it’s a visual feast so it really wakes us up and gets us excited about our day. We usually go with the freshest and always try to select local blooms, with a touch of native influence. We have a core variety that we love working with but experiment with quirky choices always. This weeks favourite King Proteas.
We have two spaces now- our beautiful store on Grenfell St in the East End of Adelaide and our studio in the inner southern area of Adelaide. Our studio is a like a busy bees nest. It can be a little messy and chaotic beneath the surface, which contrasts with the tranquility of the store perfectly.
We prep the stock for the shop and have fresh blooms delivered by our friendly couriers daily. The girls in the shop spend their time creating our signature bouquets in our little hub at East End. Our day is riddled with innovation. We are inspired by everything we can touch taste or see, and our minds are constantly getting lost in new places, eventually bringing back fresh ideas that we can run with for our ever changing range in store and online. It is so important for us to be providing things that don’t exist within close proximity to people that, until now, didn’t realise what was missing in their homes, and what they were seeking all along.
Out studio is where all the behind the scenes workings happen. Our florists take your personalised orders over the phone and on our website. We create all your orders fresh daily and send them out with our reliable couriers.
The warmest moments in our day are when someone smiles and asks us to create a bunch, but to do whatever we feel is right for them. They trust in EEFM to know their style, and what they are after. We get to share our love for something with often, a stranger, we get to connect on a level and we think there’s something pretty special about that.
Love Justine x
