Kangaroo Paw

Kangaroo Paw

If you know East End Flower Market’s style you know that we love anything native Australian. What are two things that EEFM adores and just happens to be native Australian?  Kangaroos and flowers of course! Put them together and you get kangaroo paw, a native Australian flower. Commonly grown in Western Australia because they are extremely durable and tolerant to heat. However, EEFM are lucky enough to source our Kangaroo Paw direct from the Adelaide Hills in Balhannah. Cute, cuddly and furry just like the animal they are named after and found in many sizes and colours. Kangaroo Paw can be grown in array of colours such as yellow, red, pink, orange and sometimes green
The red and green kangaroo paw was adopted as the state emblem of Western Australia in a proclamation on 9 October 1960.

EEFM is currently stocking the big red and yellow gem varieties, which you have probably seen in our wild flower mixed bouquets. Named after their resemblance to a kangaroo’s paw, who would’ve thought! Come into the store at 248 Grenfell Street and check out their unique appearance and ironically ‘Australia in a flower’.
