Okay, so its no surprise that EEFM loves Chrysanthemums and is it any wonder when theysymbolizes joy and optimism. A favourite choice among the EEFM florists, sometimes known as “mums” or chrysanths, but one fascinating thing about this flower is that it is arguably the most popular flower in the world after the rose.
We love using them because they add so much vibrancy to a bouquet whether it be a bright bouquet using orange mums or a burgundy bouquet using red mums.
You may have noticed in recent months we have introduced some new colours to the Chrysanthemum family. We have the “vintage” mum and the “fiery orange” mum. When we saw the ‘vintage’ coloured mum we knew we had to create a new bouquet, thus the Vintage Bouquet was born. It is now one EEFM's customers favourite bouquets online and instore.
You may ask how do they grow such amazing colours, well we will let you in a little secret they are actually dyed. Traditionally chrysanthemums are grown in white, yellow and green. The variety you see in EEFM are white chyrsathemums dyed in oranges, burgundy, hot pink, yellows and of course the new vintage colour tone. They are picked as white mums and are dyed in large vats. They cut the stems on a sharp 45 degree angle and leave them over night to soak up the dye. If you look closely at chrysanthemum petal you will notice that dye is only in the veins of the blooms as this is where the water travels too. This is why there is a mixture of the orginal colour and the dyed colour. They use flower grade dye which doesn’t effect the life of the flower. Our Chrysanthemums usually last 2-3 weeks but we have had customers say they last longer.
So why not pop in store and grab a bunch for only $25 or let us create a mix bouquet with complimenting flowers. If you can't make it instore or you would like to surprise someone with a bunch you can hope online here and order online. Our store is open 7 days a week and our online store is open 24/7.
We can't wait to show you our new range of Chrysanthemums!
