We love the idea of celebrating love every day of the year, but the 14th of Feb is a perfect day to show thought, a kind gesture and care for your partner or loved one.

Next, we recommend walking over to Africola on the corner of East and North Terrace. Africola is a North African inspired restaurant, using sensational local produce. Named Restaurant of the Year in 2017 by the Adelaide Advertiser newspaper, you’ll definitely find something on the menu that leaves you wanting more!

To start, we recommend their spiced whole cauliflower with tahini sauce, or grilled baby peppers with sweet aioli. For mains, our favourite dish is the pan fried fillet of kingfish belly, topped with fermented tomatillos. Yum!

Taking a lovely stroll after dinner through the Adelaide Botanic Gardens, you’ll reach your next destination located in Botanic Park, the Moonlight Cinema. This year they are hosting a Valentines Day special screening of Crazy Stupid Love, starring Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Julianne Moore, Marisa Tomei, Kevin Bacon.

For an additional charge, extra seating options include Bean Beds, the Connoisseur Lounge, or Gold Grass.

With a fully licensed bar and food trucks on site, there’ll be plenty of sweet or savoury options to choose from.

After the film finishes, there are plenty of nice bars in the East End to cheers to a romantic night! Our favourite is NOLA Adelaide, a New Orleans themed bar located in a historic East End Market store. With 16 craft beers on tap, more than 200 whiskies, and a fabulous cocktail selection with a New Orleanian twist, NOLA is the place to quench your thirst! The friendly staff will be able to help you decide if the options seem overwhelming. Even better, on Thursday evenings they have some live local talent performing upstairs. If you’re still feeling peckish we recommend trying the NOLA Fried Chicken, or the Po’ Boy Rolls. If dessert is still tickling your fancy, A big ol’ slice of Pecan Pie served with a bourbon anglaise should do the trick!
